With a history spanning nearly two decades, Dam Native are a crew that need no introduction! Pioneers of the Aotearoa hip-hop movement, they spearheaded the urban musical revolution and were fundamental in establishing a unique, conscious and heavy NZ sound.
Their debut album, Kaupapa Driven Rhymes Uplifted (KDRU), released in 1997, is still regarded as one of the best NZ hip-hop albums of all-time and with their lyrical poetics, bangin' beats and passion for hip-hop culture ranging from breaking, MCing and DJing to graffiti art they became the benchmark for street music in Aotearoa!
