Chanter Promo CD
Residing in East London, Chanter uses a chatty hip-hop MC style of
medium to fast pace flow. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this CD and
recommend you visit the links below.
The beats and riddims are produced by various producers. Tunes featured on Chanter myspace are; Switch to De Radio, Music Forever, Tapi Tapi, What Babylon de Pon, Black History, and Warrior. The promo CD also include the dub of Warrior, and from this it is easy to hear the UK dub sound influence in the beats. In general the production is of high quality and original.
I enjoyed the tunes;
Black History - Paying homage to Roots Rockers; Bob Marley, Peter Tosh,
Jacob Miller, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear and Culture with lyrics 'Born
in a England like a tree without a root....Marcus Garvey say to look to
Africa where black people have King a true leader, well I check it out
it's the Emperor the Lion of Judah'.
Part Of Life - with lyrics, 'Ganja is part me life, take Rastaman
advice, what a vibration, it well positive, can't change the life me
live'.
I
also had intervention and inspiration from the tune Rugged In A Jungle.
While at work and having a really bad day - tired, hungry, boss on my
back, toothache, thinking of bills to pay, working on Babylon
apartments - I was drilling out a concrete ceiling while standing on a
ladder with a heavy drill above my head, getting concrete and
dust all over me, in my eyes and through my dreads. I was listening to
my mp3 on random and Chanter's tune Rugged In A Jungle came on with the
lyrics 'Rugged in jungle everything is concrete....work so hard but
still in a poverty, tired of living in a jungle city' and this tune
turned my day around, when i stated to think of how blessed I am.
