February 2008 - HOT GAL

HOT GAL originates from Zimbabwe where she grew up listening to a steady diet of Ragga. She really became immersed in Reggae when she arrived in New Zealand and learnt more about Dancehall and the scene world-wide, which she compares to a 'volcano waiting to erupt in New Zealand - and it's gotten me fired up'!

Hot Gal has made it a point to get to know people throughout the country who share her passion for the music and culture, and has had some great teachers and influences along the way. She organises parties and has recently stepped up to the decks herself. Her crew - TAMALI'S INC (named after the Vegas track 'Tamale', on the Coolie riddim) also share her love for dancehall and can be found heating up floors around Auckland with their killa Dancehall moves!

You can catch Hot Girl and the Tamali Crew at Ride di Riddimz @ Zen Bar in Auckland, Saturday 8 March.

Big up to Hot Gal for her Top Ten Track Selections for February 2008.

2. General Degree - Bedroom Gangster (Synthetic Riddim)

Like I said, will take it as a compliment, we clearly intimidate you, miss "anonymous", plus it feels good to be worth your effort. But you don't need to worry about us. We have got everything going on in our lives that we need & more, and are very much so living up to our "potenTial".

Not sure what you mean by "can't get it together". I have a degree & a successful job earning more than most people my age and I am very blessed with more friends than most people I know.

No1 said that's what dancehall's about. We know & understand & feel the conscious side of it too. We don't live by the words of the music we party to. We're happy with the way we're living our lives to the fullest, so do forgive us for not understanding why outsiders want to judge. That to us is HATING.

Anonymous, NZ is to small to be hating, if you knew anything about the culture of reggae\dancehall music in NZ, you would know its about uniting our small music community with positive vibes, not hating on a public forum for the hole world to read, and you dont even have the balls to post up your real name, sad guy!
Bless up to HotGal and Tamali crew for doing ya ting!

Right on Sticky!

If dancehall is about soul then what does all this negativity say about what's in Anonymous' soul?!

On a real NZ is too small & the dancehall scene even smaller, for us to not be united, & looking at the bigger picture of building each other up & working towards growing dancehall inna di place.

Respect to all like-minded selectas and supporters! ;)
