At the recent Firehouse gig here in Welly, selector Undercover dropped the jungle remix of Prophet Rides Again and Harvana Bar went so crazy the needle on the turntable started bouncing! This prompted me to big up this tune as Track of the Week.
Prophet Rides Again is a big tune released in 2007 on Ink A Link Records. This jungle remix was done by producer, Karik In Dub.
The original tune is versatile enough to fit in with dub, hip-hop, reggae and dancehall orientated sets. The thing I like about the jungle remix is that the start of the track is the same as the original, until you hear the first of many snare drums making up the Amen breaks.
On the 12'' vinyl, the A-side features an extended-mix, that is pretty much just the riddim version, which in itself nices up the dance well.
